The Ericsson R380 is 15 years

The Ericsson R380 is 15 years old it came out in 2000

The Ericsson R380 might not look special but it was
it wasn't designed as a fashion phone (like the tiny Nokia 8210 80 grams)
with a bulky frame of 164 grams and 26 mm thick it was designed as a business (brick)
But The Ericsson R380 has a secret its a smartphone and it can open

Yes that is a large touch display (not the 1st touch screen phone though that would be the ibm simon)
And was the first device to use the new Symbian OS. (Nokia fans)
 $700 in 2000

The Ericsson R380 is  A combined mobile phone and personal organizer, It also has a WAP 1.2.1 browser and the  Ericsson R380 could receive and send emails .
you can write short notes directly on the screen for later reference – Ink notes.
with a full qwerty on screen key board
R380 was the ideal business tool.

Despite the sophisticated user interface  (in 2000) , users could not install their own software on the device.

The phone and the software was developed at Ericsson's lab in Kista, Sweden. The UI was developed at Ericsson's Software Applications Laboratory in Warrington, UK. The UI was built using an in-house developed library called the Ericsson Control Kit (ECK).

it also has

Organizer
- holds 99 contacts
- Voice dial
- Voice answer
- Voice memo
 - Calculator

This was one of the best smartphones in 2000 it can be thought of as one of the phones that inspired  the apple iPhone
